Majd Fariat
Welcome to my little corner of the internet. This is where I keep a record of the things I make and the things I like.
These days I work in reservations and guest service at the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel, from September to March, and I am studying hospitality management and tourism at Lapland UAS.
It is easier and faster than ever to get an idea working, and the AI tools help a lot with that. And that, along with my rusty software engineering skills, is what I am currently leveraging to run wild and build everything I can think of and feel is worth putting out there.
Things I have made
Everything I have built and kept, newest first. The ones I am still working on are at the top.
Music
I make beats, or I used to, and every now and then a full track with someone when the chance comes up. Everything here is mine and free of copyright.
Games
What I am playing at the moment, and the ones I have put real hours into over the years.
Films
Movies and shows I have watched and remembered. When I have some time maybe I will write about them and categorise them better.
Experience
Hospitality & tourismAbout
BackgroundI changed careers from web development to tourism many moons ago, and tourism is what I do now. I have worked in hotel reception and reservations, in guest service, and one summer on the tourist information desk in Helsinki.
I kept building things on the side that whole time, but I finish a lot more of them now than I used to. The AI tools are part of it. They take most of the slow and boring work out of getting from an idea to something that actually runs. The bigger part is that I am more motivated than I was a few years ago, and I have a clearer idea of what I want to make and why.
Languages: Arabic is my mother tongue. I also speak English and French, and I am learning Finnish.
Contact
This is not really a hire me page. I already have a full time job and a degree keeping me busy. But I am always interested in hearing about new things, whether it is an idea you want built or something you are working on yourself. Email is the quickest way to reach me. I read everything and I reply to most of it.
